The preaching of the Word of God is the most important aspect of New Life Baptist Church. Knowing the power of God and how it changes lives is so important that the church is broadcasting their Sunday Service live to reach more people in Kiski Valley. Although the New Life Baptist Church name is new, the church isn’t. The congregation began in 1918 and was founded in 1920. That rich history began when several of the African-American settlers were meeting in a small home. That finally led them to establish a church. The founding members began holding worship services in a schoolhouse in North Vandergrift (Parks Township, Armstrong County). Known as the First Baptist Church of North Vandergrift, they recently moved to Apollo when the Methodist church donated their former church building.

Pastor: The Reverend June P. Jeffries

Service Schedule: Sunday service is at 11 a.m. and adult Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m. An Adult bible study is held on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and a Men’s bible study at 7 p.m. There is a Men’s prayer breakfast on the first Saturday of every month.
